MILWAUKIE — The Tualatin-based Suburban Door OIBA baseball team scored often, early and late.
And the Dawgs got a big win to show for it.
Suburban Door, scoring in six of the seven inning, including five run in the third inning and six in the eighth, sprinted to a 15-2 win over Milwaukie in an Olin Division game played Friday at Milwaukie High School.
With the victory, the Dawgs improved to 4-2 in division play. Milwaukie fell to 0-2 with the setback.
Cameron Springer, a Tualatin High School junior-to-be, helped lead the way in the victory for Suburban Door, going 2 for 5 at the plate with a double and three RBIs.
Junior-to-be Bryce Beck doubled and scored a pair of runs. Senior-to-be Chris Freese went 1 for 3 at the plate with a pair of runs scored. Senior-to-be Jack Olson walked three times and scored twice. Senior-to-be Colby Jackson went 1 for 4 with two runs scored and senior-to-be Ryan Webb went 1 for 5 with a run scored and two RBIs.
Junior-to-be Kyle Kamp walked twice and scored twice. Blake Jackson, Jett Searle and Cameron Atkinson each scored a run and drove in a run.
Olson picked up the pitching win. He gave up no runs on two hits, while striking out eight and walking one in six innings of work.
The Dawgs also scored a 7-4 win at Milwaukie on June 7. Webb went 3 for 4 at the plate in that game, with two runs scored and two RBIs. Senior-to-be Sean Chamberlin went 3 for 5 with two runs scored and Atkinson went 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI.
The Dawgs will be back in action today (Thursday) when they face Lakeridge in a first-round game of the Lake Oswego-Tigard tournament, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Tigard High School On Friday, Suburban Door will face Jesuit in a tourney game starting at 6:30 p.m. at Tigard. On Saturday, the Dawgs will play Tigard at 10 a.m. at Tigard. Suburban Door will finish tourney play Sunday against an opponent at a site and time to be determined.
On Monday, the Dawgs will play at Forest Grove at 6 p.m. They'll travel to Jesuit on Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
