Tualatin tabs Austin as new baseball coach
TUALATIN — Tualatin High School has hired Jake Austin as its new head varsity baseball coach.
Austin comes to Tualatin from La Salle Prep High School, where he has served as head coach the past four years. During his stay at La Salle, the Falcons went 64-34 while winning two Northwest Oregon Conference titles. This past spring, Austin was named the NWOC Coach of the Year.
Austin started his coaching career at Centennial High School, as the head junior varsity coach. He coached there for three years, leading the "A" American Legion team to a runner-up finish at the state tournament.
Austin spent the next four season as the head JV coach at Centennial High School, under current head coach John Arnston. Austin then went on to assist for Tom Campbell at Tigard High School for two years. He left Tigard to become the head coach at La Salle.
