Tiger girls take fourth place, Sherwood fifth, Tualatin sixth at the league tournament

Victoria Gailey picked up right where she left off.

The Tigard High School senior, who was the Three Rivers League girls golf individual champion during the 2017 season, opened the 2018 league campaign by handily winning the first TRL tournament of the season, held March 20 at Chehalem Glenn Golf Club in Newberg.

Gailey triumphed at the tournament with an even-par round of 72 strokes. That put Gailey five shots ahead of the second-place finisher, West Linn's Olivia Venderby.

Gailey helped the Tigers take fourth place in the team standings at last week's TRL opener with a score of 432.

Maddie Rough added a 117 for Tigard. Emma Grant had a round of 121, Kate Cameron shot a 122 and Emma Black had a 139.

Sherwood finished in fifth place in the team standings, just five shots behind Tigard, with a score of 437.

Sophomore Ally Plusquellec led the way for the Lady Bowmen with a round of 96. Also for Sherwood, Chloe Knudson shot a 103, Avery Gladheim had a 114, Alese Semingson shot a 124 and Camy Brinkley had a 153.

Tualatin took sixth place in the team standings at the tournament with a score of 453.
