Love Santa was one of a number of “local heroes” honored on Sept. 11 by the Willamette Chapter of the American Red Cross at its ninth annual Real Heroes Breakfast

The event, presented by Fred Meyer, was at the Salem Conference Center.

Love Santa, Inc. is a Woodburn-based nonprofit corporation which provides gifts and a hearty meal during the holiday season, serving hundreds of families in Woodburn, Hubbard, Aurora and Donald each year.

"This event helps us to celebrate individuals in Marion, Polk and Lincoln Counties whose unselfish, caring acts helped to save the lives of friends, teammates and even complete strangers,” said Maria Salazar, executive director of the Willamette Chapter. “Their stories provide for an informative and inspiring breakfast.”
