by: JEFF MCDONALD - Gary Grossen, owner of GK Machine in Donald. Donald-based GK Machine has received a $50,000 economic development grant that will help the agricultural equipment manufacturer with its planned expansion.

The grant, which was one of four awarded by the Marion County Board of Commissioners, is designed to stimulate economic development in the county targeting projects that retain or create jobs, expand services or production, add sales revenue from outside the county and enhance the county’s property tax base, according to a news release from the county.

GK Machine was approved earlier this year by the Donald Planning Commission for an expansion project that would add 113,500 square feet of manufacturing and office space to the current 55,000 square-foot building over the next five years.

The company also has indicated it would add 50 employees immediately and invest $15 million over the next eight years.
