Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested two Woodburn men after a Monday morning home robbery case on Mount Angel SUBMITTED - David Gonzalez

David Gonzalez, 23, of Woodburn and Richard Hess, 25, of Woodburn, were arrested on unrelated charges later Monday.

Police responded to a home on the 8400 block of Mount Angel Highway around 1 a.m. Monday, residents having reported that two men, possibly armed with handguns, came to the home and attempted to rob them.

After capturing one suspect, Marion Countby: SUBMITTED - Richard Hessy SWAT?Team spent four hours negotiating with a second suspect barricaded in the house. SWAT entered the house with a K-9, deemed the residence clear, but then found and detained the suspect on the neighboring property an hour later.

Gonzalez has been charged with burglary in the second degree, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and being a felon in possession of a weapon.

Hess is in custody on two outstanding warrants for theft III and possession of methamphetamine.

Charges regarding Monday's incident were brought down on the duo Tuesday. Each suspect is charged with three counts of robbery in the first degree, three counts of kidnapping in the first degree and three counts of menacing.

They were scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.

Both Hess and Gonzalez are being held in the Marion County Jail.
