The Woodburn Academy of Art, Science and Technology is hosting its second annual Senior Symposium May 1.

More than 65 senior projects will be featured, all of which included community involvement and benefit. Just some of the projects are:

  • Middle school drug awareness campaign
  • Soccer and football camps for elementary and middle school students
  • Book drives for kindergarteners
  • Basketball camp for students with disabilities
  • Creation of recycling programs at the elementary schools in the area
  • Building and distribution of bird houses in the community
  • Little Sister/Big Sister program at WAAST.
  • The event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. Each senior invites their parents and their mentor, who is most likely a community member.

The public is invited to attend. Students will be able to present in either English or Spanish.
