Meeting will address ways the county, ODOT is working to improve northern Marion County roads in light of recent crashes

A traffic safety meeting for northern Marion County residents has been scheduled for Tuesday evening in St. Paul.

The public is invited to this meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the St. Paul Community Hall, 20239 Main St.

Moderated by Marion County Commissioner Kevin Cameron, the meeting will feature input from St. Paul Mayor Kim Wallis, Aurora Rural Fire Protection District board member Greg Leo, Marion County Sheriff Jason Myers, Marion County Public Works Director Alan Haley and Oregon Department of Transportation Region II Area Manager Tim Potter. There will also be time for two-minute comments by interested citizens.

The meeting will include an update to what measures have been taken in recent months to make county roads safer.

This is the third meeting with government leaders to address traffic concerns from the public. The first meeting of its kind was Sept. 7 in Donald, and was held as after what seemed to be an uptick in crashes, sometimes fatal, happening on rural roads in Marion County.
