Alleged tractor thief arrested after crash
Hubbard police arrested a Molalla man last week after he allegedly stole a tractor, crashed it into a ditch and attempted to hide in a nearby field.
Julio Godinez, 24, of Molalla, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, first degree theft of a motor vehicle and failure to perform the duties of a driver - hit and run.
Hubbard Officer Glen Bentley responded to a reported motor vehicle crash in the 13000 block of Whiskey Hill Road around 7:25 p.m. June 30. Upon discovering a farm tractor in a drainage ditch with no driver in sight, Bentley reportedly discovered Godinez hiding in a nearby field.
The tractor had been reported stolen earlier that evening from the 17000 block of Front Street just south of Hubbard.
No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were sustained.
