Woodburn School District recruits for strategic plan update
The Woodburn School District is looking for community members, parents and guardians who would like to participate in its five-year strategic plan update.
The Strategic Plan is significant in that it guides the school district's decision-making that contributes to the success of its students.
The Woodburn School District has about 5,700 students in grades K-12 across four elementary, two middle and five small high schools. Its student body is one of the most culturally and economically diverse in the state.
According to the district, it supports social justice by providing equitable outcomes for all student, who achieve academically and professionally because of this equity lens.
Interested parties should be able to commit to four meetings at 1390 Meridian Drive:
• Oct. 27, Noon to 6 p.m.
• Oct. 28, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Feb. 9, Noon to 6 p.m.
• Feb. 10, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The first set of meetings in October is to draft a new Strategic Plan. The second set of meetings is to finalize the plan after an extensive public outreach and feedback process.
If the meeting commitment is prohibitive for some, the district would welcome community participation in reviewing the draft plan and providing input anytime from November through January.
