Five SkillsUSA members performed a skit about the meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the presentation of small flagstands that were custom made for the second-graders.

High school students had the second-graders riveted and the high school students were just as excited to participate in this annual event, wood shop teacher Sherie Moran said.

In a couple of instances, the high school student had a direct link to a particular second-grader and they were able to specially present their own flag to their own relative (sibling or cousin). It added a special moment to an already special event, Moran said.
