French Prairie Kiwanis supports Oregon Battle of the Books
The Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB) in Woodburn just received a boost last week from the French Prairie Kiwanis Club.
The club voted at its June board meeting last month to fund seven sets of books for the 2017-18 OBOB season, one for each library in the Woodburn School District. Three members also personally donated one set each, providing just over $1,000 to this annual project. Each OBOB set contains 12 to 16 books, with costs ranging from $95 to $115 per set, depending on the grade level.
French Prairie Kiwanis Club challenges other service clubs in Woodburn — in particular, Woodburn Kiwanis, Woodburn Rotary and Woodburn Lions — to match what French Prairie has done and donate $1,000 to Battle of the Books.
