Heritage celebrates its Russian heritage
Heritage Elementary has been around for nearly 20 years, and the school's Russian dual-language program has been celebrated for at least most of that time.
The celebration continued Thursday night at the school's annual Russian Festival. The festival included arts and crafts created by students, as well as performances from classes K-5.
"This is a recognition of Russian culture, a celebration of the language and what we do as a school," said Lilia Zaltsman, the school's math instructional coach.
The performances from each class included songs, poems and retelling of Russian folk tales.
