Wrestling: Kennedy program debuts in Harrisburg
The new Kennedy wrestling team got its first taste of action this season at the Deven Dawson Memorial Tournament in Harrisburg, placing three of five wrestlers on Saturday.
Carlos Saravia led the team with a fourth-place finish in the 120-pound bracket, advancing to the semifinals with a pair of first-round victories before falling in back-to-back matches to close out the day.
Matthew Morrow added a fifth-place finish in the 113-pound bracket, falling in his first match of the day before rebounding with a 6-0 decision in the fifth-place match over Pleasant Hill's Preston Nibblett.
Junior Bryce Vandervort went 4-2 in the 182-pound bracket to place eighth overall.
The Trojans finished 18th as a team, scoring 37 points in the 21-team tournament.
