Stir with one accomplished choreographer and bake with a seasoned artistic director. Simmer until hot. Directed by David Smith-English, Carousel stars Portland Area Musical Theatre Award (PAMTA) winners Michael Mitchell as Billy Bigelow and Dru Rutledge as Julie Jordan. Exploring themes of love and redemption, this second show of the season is choreographed by Wes Hanson, PAMTA-winner for last years Clackamas Rep musical Kiss Me Kate. The show runs through Aug. 24. Purchase tickets through the box office by calling 503-594-6047. Shows are held in the Osterman Theater on the Clackamas Community College campus, 19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City.

And I have an all-star rhythm section with me: George Colligan on piano, Dylan Sundstrom on bass and Christopher Brown on drums. Niswanger recently played with Colligans quintet at Smalls jazz club in New York, receiving rave reviews. The energy is expected to take over Jimmy Maks stage as the musicians explore original material from all of the band members, as well as some classic material. Tickets are $12 at the door.
