CREST offers field trips during in-service days

Students will learn about and explore the outdoors

The Center for Research in Environmental Sciences & Technologies (CREST) Learning On the Go program will offer field trips during teacher in-service days. Field trips allow students to get outdoors and explore natural areas.

Children in third through fifth grade are invited to visit the Columbia River Gorge and learn about salmon from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 10. Cost is $45.

Children in first through third grade are invited to visit Graham Oaks Nature Park to learn about creepy crawly critters and play games from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 10. Cost is $35.

Children in second through fifth grade are invited to visit Sauvie Island to pick pumpkins, go through the corn maze, visit the beach, play games and make fall-themed art from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 11.

Children in kindergarten through first grade are invited to CREST Farm to learn about the five senses by petting animals, making a noise machine, looking at optical illusions and playing games from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 12. Cost is $35.

Children in fifth through eighth grade are invited to canoe the Willamette River, learn about wildlife, experiment with water quality, eat lunch and more from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 12. Cost is $45.
