Roman Ollar and Tristan Stallcup each win events

The West Linn track teams competed at the Wilsonville Invitational over the weekend, taking on a strong field.

Both teams took eighth in the competition and had some standout performances.

For the boys, West Linn fared particularly well in the distances events.

Roman Ollar continued his strong season, winning the 1500 in 4:03.8, a career best. He would also take second in the 3000, shattering his personal best time in that event as well.

Grayson Ollar took eighth in the 3000 while Conor Egan finished seventh in the 1500.

The Lions picked up another victory in the 110 hurdles, where Tristan Stallcup took home the victory in 15.36 seconds, a career best.

In the field, Gavin Anderson finished third in the discus with a best-throw of just over 130 feet.

The Lions' 4x100 relay team of Stallcup, Lucas Evans, Elijah Molden and Kurt Moon made the finals and finished seventh.

For the girls, Johanna Briscoe scored a pair of top-five finishes in both of her distance events.

She took third in the 1500, finishing in just over five minutes. She was also fourth in the 3000, cracking 11 minutes for the first time this year.

In the 100 hurdles, Diana Swanson took fourth in a time of 17.06.

Swanson also helped the Lions' 4x400 relay team, also featuring Audrey Clow, Emily Hamel and Isabella Reichner to a fifth place finish.

Audrey Belisle took seventh in the javelin and the Lions had a pair of athletes place in the pole vault.

Clow took second, clearing eight feet while Hamel finished in seventh.

The Lions took on Lake Oswego in another league meet Wednesday.
