West Linn girls second boys fourth in TRL skiing
The West Linn girls ski team was right there on Saturday.
The Lions, competing in the Three Rivers League slalom on Timberline's Pucci run, battled to a second-place finish in the six-team field, trailing only Lake Oswego in the team standings.
In the boys race, the Lions finished fourth among seven teams behind Lakeridge, Central Catholic and Lake Oswego.
Next up, the Three Rivers League is scheduled to compete in a slalom on the Stadium run at Mt. Hood Meadows on Sunday.
In Saturday's girls race, Lake Oswego skied off with top honors, posting a team time of 5 minutes, 24.21 seconds, while the Lions finished second with a mark of 5:33.63 and Lincoln was third at 5:33.79.
Alyssa Hargis was the Lions' top individual, racing to fourth place overall at 1:41.39. Wilsonville's Kiera Bertell won the individual race with a time of 1:37.48, followed by Lake Oswego's Nicole Danilevsky at 1:40.99 and Cailin Gahan of Wilsonville with a 1:41.07.
The rest of the Lions' finishers included: Rachel Esnoz, 13th at 1:55.82; Grace Maher, 14th at 1:56.42; Madison Root, 22nd at 2:09.27; Zayna Farrah, 55.75 for her one completed run; and Alexa Skrypkar, 1:09.77 for her one completed run.
In the boys race, the Lions notched a team time of 5:56.30 to finish fourth. Lakeridge placed first at 4:59.88, followed by Central Catholic at 5:06.05 and Lake Oswego with a 5:17.06.
Macallister Graves was West Linn's fastest finisher, placing 15th with a time of 1:54.66. He was followed closely by teammate Trevor Pool (16th at 1:54.75), Haden Misra (21st with a 2:06.89) and Christopher Winjum (23rd at 2:15.67). Max Liubich added a 1:08.50 for his one completed run.
Lakeridge's Ty Glumbik won the individual race at 1:38.04, while Laz Glickman of Lake Oswego took second at 1:38.33 and Central Catholic's Tucker Scroggins was third with a 1:40.55.
