Taking on Tax Time
Unless you can file a simple 1040EZ form, tax season is probably your least favorite time of the year. Over time, financial successes and shortfalls can complicate our tax record keeping. This can be especially true when we make major purchases or sales, begin or end a business, pass assets on to individuals or organizations, or if errors were made in previous filings.
While most people aren't looking forward to tax season, there are steps we can take to make tax filings less stressful. As financial advisors, we help our clients make decisions throughout the year that can result in better outcomes once tax time rolls around. Sometimes, in our consultations, we can spot opportunities that were lost because the client didn't seek advice before making a financial or lifestyle decision. The actions taken at the inopportune time, or in a less than optimal manner, can have a greater impact than we might think.
We recommend that you consult your financial advisor before:
Advisors at McGee Wealth Management make themselves available by phone, email, in-person, or Skype, whenever our clients need to consult. While we understand that investment performance is key to asset building, our planning-centric approach can better lead to long-term financial and lifestyle success. In addition, we work with our clients' tax and legal advisors to enable your advisory team to get a full financial picture.
