Thanksgiving feast at the center

The Wilsonville Community Center will host a noontime Thanksgiving feast on Wednesday, Nov. 27. Evie and Jennifer will be serving up the turkey and stuffing with all the fixings. Spend some time catching up with friends and enjoy music on the piano with Donna Talus. We look forward to seeing you.

Stay active

It can be a real challenge for all of us to remain active and engaged during the rainy season. The community center has just what the doctor ordered with a variety of fun and upbeat classes that will keep you going.

If relaxation and stress relief is your goal, we offer morning yoga classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The second session will begin Nov. 7 will run for eight weeks with some breaks for the holidays. Long-time instructor Myra Harrell teaches both classes and is dedicated to making the experience a positive one for all participants. The class fee is $47 for Active Adults over 55, and you can sign up at our website ci.wilsonville.or.us/parksandrec or at the community center.

Our popular Healthy Bones and Balance class also offers a second session beginning Nov. 18. There are two levels, beginner and returning students, and both integrate music and cardio activity with strengthening, flexibility and balance work. The second session has a charge of $37 for 14 classes, which is a real bargain. Are you wondering which class to sign up for? Contact personal trainer Brad Moore and schedule a free senior fitness test or functional movement screening and get all the data you need to make an informed choice.
