by: NAOMILMUSIC.COM - Wilsonville singer/songwriter Naomi LaViolette performs Dec. 7 at Portlands Historic Old Church to benefit the Sunshine Division. Wilsonville singer-songwriter Naomi LaViolette will team up Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. with Redwood Son for a double feature evening at Portland’s Historic Old Church, 1422 SW 11th Ave., Portland.

This is the second annual Sing to Feed concert held by local music veteran Josh Malm that aims to raise money for the Portland Police Bureau’s nonprofit Sunshine Division.

Together, the duo will share acoustic and holiday songs written and arranged by both artists, backed by the Sing to Feed Choir, an ensemble of singers gathered from choral groups in the Portland area.

The first Sing to Feed was held last year at The Aladdin Theater in Portland. Now comes the always-challenging second annual rendition.

“The holiday season always gets me thinking about the staggering amount of people who are less fortunate and don’t get a chance to enjoy the luxuries so many of us do this time of year, let alone the basic necessities like food and clothing,” Malm said. “It’s very sad to me. Sing to Feed is just one of the ways for our community to rally together, for one purpose, and bring some relief to those in need.”

Following a successful release show last month at the Alberta Rose Theatre of her second record, “You’ve Got Me,” Wilsonville’s LaViolette also plans to release “Noel,” a single for this year’s holiday season featuring violin and choir, at the Dec. 7 Sing to Feed. There, she will perform the single with violinist Scott Stevens and the Sing to Feed Choir.

LaViolette has always enjoyed playing benefit shows.

“It is an honor to help others through music, especially during the holidays, which should be a time of joy and charity for all,” she said. “Music connects people in ways beyond dollars and donations. It reaches heart level.”

Tickets are $10 at and food donations are suggested at the door. For more information, visit, and
