Holiday activities galore at community center

Wilsonville Community Center news

The following are upcoming events and activities offered through the community center.

Eating healthy tips for the holidays

Here are some tips for eating a little healthier during the holidays:

Eat a healthy small meal before a party. In other words, do not go hungry to a party if you are trying to lose weight.

  • If you know you are going to treat yourself later have a good breakfast.
  • Don’t rush to eat. Socialize and settle into the festivities before you eat.
  • Drink a glass of water when you arrive and in between alcoholic beverages. This will help you stay hydrated and help resist the urge to over-imbibe.
  • Try not to socialize near the buffet table, this will minimize unconscious nibbling.
  • Just as important is to keep moving, exercise will help to burn calories and helps lower stress. The holidays are about enjoying what we have, which is our family and friends.
