The Wilsonville Police Department operates under contract with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. The reports listed here are public records and are listed chronologically. All persons named here are innocent of criminal charges until proven guilty in court.

BURGLARY

12/14 9:19 a.m. A burglary was reported at a building under construction in the 26700 block of Southwest 95th Avenue. The premises had been broken into and three metal chests with tools inside had been ransacked. No suspects identified.

THEFTS

12/10 7:09 p.m. A 2006 Dodge Charger parked in the 30000 block of Southwest Town Center Loop West was reportedly broken into and a bag of clothing stolen from inside. Loss is estimated at $670, including a broken window. No suspect identified.

12/12 6:41 a.m. A semi-truck parked in the 9100 block of Southwest Ridder Road was broken into and hand tools and tire chains were stolen. A door lock was broken to allow the thief entry. No suspect identified.

12/12 7:45 a.m. A 2010 Honda CRV parked in the 29800 block of Southwest Boones Ferry Road was broken into and a laptop computer and messenger bag worth $370 were stolen. No suspect identified.

12/12 2:54 p.m. A Sony PlayStation was stolen from the Wilsonville Costco between Nov. 4 and Dec. 8. No suspect identified.

12/16 7:20 p.m. A 2005 Lincoln LS parked in the 29800 block of Southwest Boones Ferry Road was reportedly broken into, but nothing was stolen. A 2008 Toyota Tacoma pickup, also was broken into around the same time at the same location and a separate report filed. In that case an laptop computer valued at $500 was stolen. Windows were shattered in both vehicles to gain entry. No suspect identified in either case, but a backpack filled with clothing and an ID belonging to the owner of the Toyota was recovered the following morning in the 29700 block of Southwest Town Center Loop West.

12/16 8 p.m. A car parked in the 30800 block of Southwest Boones Ferry Road was reportedly broken into and a laptop computer and a briefcase valued at more than $1,600 total were stolen from inside. A window was shattered to gain entry. No suspect identified.

12/16 10:20 p.m. The theft of two pair of high-end headphones was reported at the Wilsonville Target store. A male suspect was seen on video using a box cutter or similar tool to open the packaging and then conceal the headphones.

12/17 8:20 a.m. A case of identity theft was reported at a residence in the 3100 block of Southwest Salmon Lane. The victim reported someone obtained a credit card through PayPal using her name and address. No suspects identified.

ACCIDENTS

12/9 1:09 p.m. A hit-and-run crash involving a semitrailer was reported at the intersection of Southwest Town Center Loop West and Southwest Park Place. There, an electrical box on a utility pole was struck by the rear tires of the truck as it made a right-hand turn. The truck was tracked down by police using witness information, and the driver later told investigators he was unaware of any collision. Insurance information was provided and the case was suspended.

12/10 2:05 p.m. A 2000 Ford Taurus driven by a West Linn resident reportedly suffered brake failure and struck a West Linn-Wilsonville School District bus in the intersection of Southwest Brown Road and Southwest Coleman Loop. No injuries were reported. The driver of the car told police she not only suffered brake failure but also hit the accelerator by accident, causing her to speed into the collision. She was cited for failure to drive within her lane.

12/10 6:03 p.m. A hit-and-run accident was reported in the 9200 block of Southwest Peyton Lane.

12/12 11 a.m. A two-vehicle crash involving a SMART bus was reported on Southwest Kinsman Road near the intersection of Southwest Barber Street. A southbound 1997 Chevrolet Camaro reportedly passed a police officer in icy conditions, failed to negotiate a corner and slid into the bus. No injuries were reported. The Camaro driver was cited for careless driving.

12/13 3:27 p.m. A two-vehicle crash was reported near the intersection of Southwest Wilsonville and Boones Ferry roads. No injuries reported, no citations issued.

12/13 8:45 p.m. A driver struck two trees on Southwest 95th Avenue near Hillman Street after falling asleep at the wheel. No citations were issued.

12/15 4:40 a.m. A two-vehicle crash was reported on Interstate 5 northbound just north of Elligsen Road. There, a semi-truck reportedly struck a slow-moving 2004 Saturn while trying to pass. The Saturn was spun into a retaining wall, but no injuries were reported. No citations were issued.

12/15 1:55 p.m. A single-vehicle crash was reported in the 24100 block of Southwest Newland Road just outside Wilsonville. There, a 2000 Toyota Corolla reportedly left the roadway headed south on Newland Road and ran into a mailbox on a post. The driver told police he had become nauseous seconds before the crash. He reported slight injuries. No citations were issued.

12/16 7:57 a.m. A hit-and-run accident was reported at the intersection of Southwest Boones Ferry and Ridder roads, where a vehicle struck and damaged a guard rail.

MISC.

12/4 8:33 p.m. Multiple suspects reportedly passed suspected counterfeit currency to cashiers at the Wilsonville Target store. Employees believed the 10 $100 bills passed by a man and a woman were forgeries, but a standard counterfeit detection pen did not identify the bills as counterfeit. Employees reported a similar case in recent weeks also involving a man and woman who passed suspected counterfeit currency worth $1,400 at the same store. Target loss prevention also reported that the merchandise “purchased” this way was being returned to Target stores in the San Francisco area and had been tracked via serial numbers and receipts. The U.S. Secret Service has been contacted for assistance.
