City seeks applicants for DRB vacancy

Board decides large number of Wilsonville land use applications

The city of Wilsonville is now taking applications for the city’s development review boards.

The DRB consists of two five-member panels, which review and take quasi-judicial action on land use applications. Members of one panel may substitute for members of the other panel, if necessary, to ensure a quorum at all meetings.

DRB members serve a two-year term and receive direct staff support from the entire city planning department.

Board members must be city residents. No more than two members of a panel can be involved in the same occupation, and no more than one member of either panel can be involved in real estate sales or development.

The main purpose of the DRB is to render decisions regarding land divisions, planned development, site level review of specific development proposals, design review applications, street naming and vacations, zoning variances, conditional use permits and quasi-judicial amendments to the city’s comprehensive plan designations or zoning.

DRB decisions usually are binding, but may be appealed to the city council.

If you are interested in applying for a board position, pick up an application from Sandra King, city ecorder, at Wilsonville City Hall, 29799 SW Town Center Loop. Applications are also available online at ci.wilsonville.or.us/Index.aspx?page=265.

Deadline for applications is 4:30 p.m. Feb. 14.
