Get rid of your plus-sized junk May 10

Republic Services, Willamette Resources and the city of Wilsonville are sponsoring “Bulky Waste Day” May 10 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at 10295 SW Ridder Road in Wilsonville.

The event is free, but people dropping off junk need to show proof of Wilsonville residency and are asked to make a canned food donation to benefit Wilsonville Community Sharing’s Food Bank program.

Community members may drop-off large, bulky items that don’t fit into standard-sized garbage cans. The types of waste that are accepted include dishwashers, televisions, refrigerators, computers, monitors, stoves, dryers, water heaters, couches, mattresses, scrap metal, tables and chairs.

The following are types of items that are not be accepted include propane bottles and canisters, paint, batteries, solvents, thinners, household garbage, tires and other related items.
