Art in the Park: 2014 Wilsonville Festival of Arts

Festival-goers enjoy beautiful conditions and top-notch musical talent

The 2014 Wilsonville Festival of Arts was held under idyllic conditions Saturday and Sunday in Town Center Park.

With temperatures in the 70s and the skies bright with sun, families headed to the park and its popular water feature for a day of art and entertainment. Even the new World of Speed auto racing museum got in on the act — and it isn't even open to the public yet.

On the main stage, Portland jazz pianist Darrell Grant turned in a strong set Saturday with He Said, She Said, a quintet featuring vocalists Marilyn Keller and Jeff Baker. Prior to that, Wilsonville High School's acclaimed a cappella group Soul'd Out packed the pavilion with supporters, while Clyde List and his family portrayed Wilsonville pioneers Alfonso and Jesse Boone in a reenactment that saw them roam the entire park.

On Sunday, Wilsonville's own Naomi LaViolette entertained with her smooth vocals, while the Stomptowners showed why Celtic dance has long been popular with American audiences.
