Wilsonville singer-songwriter Naomi LaViolette and Matt Brown — formerly of Portland, now based in Nashville — will team up once again to perform a show titled “Faraway Cities” at Portland’s Alberta Rose Theatre on July 17.

The show is a homecoming for Brown and a reunion with LaViolette. The pair will perform separately with their own bands, as well as collaborate on several songs together, including LaViolette’s duet, “Faraway City.”

LaViolette has opened for national and international acts, and performed at the Portland Jazz Festival, Jimmy Mak’s, the Doug Fir Lounge and The Bite of Oregon.

Brown released his first solo EP, ‘Finish Lines’, in July 2011, ‘Barcelona’ in 2012, and recently released a new record produced by Rian Lewis with his trio, Matt Brown and the Connection.

LaViolette’s band includes: guitarist Tim Ellis; bassist Jamin Swenson; drummer Ken Ollis; saxophonist Collin Wilson and vocalist Tiffany Carlson. Matt Brown and the Connection include bassist Jacob Battan and drummer Wylie Foster.
