Photo Credit: SPOKESMAN FILE PHOTO: JOSH KULLA - Vlahos Drive, shown here prior to construction at the point where it will intersect with the Canyon Creek Road extension, will be closed entirely for the next few weeks as the extension is built out. SW Vlahos Drive between the Windfield Village retirement center and Town Center Loop East is scheduled to be closed temporarily starting on Monday, August 18 for six to eight weeks.

According to the city of Wilsonville, while the road is closed a detour route will be available using Courtside Drive. During the road closure, contractors will realign Vlahos Drive to intersect with Canyon Creek Road, which is being extended from south of Boeckman Road to connect with Town Center Loop East.

The new road will feature sidewalks, bike lanes, and the realigned Vlahos Drive is scheduled to open in November.

During the temporary road closure, traffic on Courtside Drive will increase and motorists are urged to slow down and use extra caution as they pass through the residential neighborhood.

“The Canyon Creek Road extension project will provide an additional route that offers more north-south travel options for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians on the east side of Wilsonville,” said Nancy Kraushaar, city community development director.
