THEFTS

Aug. 11, 8:51 a.m.: A vehicle parked in the 8600 block of Southwest Metolius Lane was broken into by a suspect who shattered a window and then stole prescription sunglasses and loose change.

Aug. 11, 11:08 a.m.: A 1995 Toyota Camry parked in the 6800 block of Southwest Wilsonville Road was broken into but nothing was stolen from inside.

Aug. 11, 3:45 p.m.: A Ford F350 pickup parked in the 29100 block of Southwest Meadows Loop was broken into and a backpack with soccer equipment stolen from inside. No suspect was identified.

Aug. 12, 5:30 a.m.: A Honda Cyclone 3000 generator valued at $1,000 was stolen from a construction project in the 7800 block of Southwest Wilsonville Road. No suspect was identified.

Aug. 12, 4:38 p.m.: A complainant in the 12000 block of Southwest Lausanne Street reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be with the IRS. The caller told the man that he owed over $7,000 in back taxes and would be arrested if he did not immediately pay that amount “owed.”

Even though he was sure he had paid his taxes through a legitimate broker, the victim told the caller he only had $1,500 in the bank and would pay that amount. So the caller instructed the victim to purchase three pre-paid cards in the amount of $500 each.

The caller stayed on the phone with the victim as the purchase was made and demanded the numbers to the pre-paid cards. After giving the caller the information, the victim never heard back from the “IRS” and phoned police after calls to the suspect’s number went nowhere.

Aug. 13, 3:00 p.m.: A 2008 Cat mini excavator valued at around $30,000 was reported stolen from a construction project in the 27200 block of Southwest Parkway Avenue. No suspect was identified.

Aug. 13, 3:41 p.m.: A storage space in the 29700 block of Southwest Boones Ferry Road was broken into and files and other paperwork from a business were stolen. No suspect was identified.

Aug. 13, 5:15 p.m.: A utility trailer valued at $12,000 was reported stolen from a business in the 27100 block of Southwest 95th Avenue. No suspect was identified.

Aug. 14, 7:02 a.m.: A 1998 Chevy pickup and flatbed trailer carrying three lawnmowers was reported stolen from a business in the 29700 block of Southwest Kinsman Road. No suspect was identified.

MISC.

Aug. 11, 11:36 a.m.: An unknown subject vandalized picnic tables at Hatahaway Park in the 29400 block of Southwest Meadows Loop.

Aug. 11, 1:38 p.m.: A sink in a restroom at the SMART Central Station in the 9600 block of Southwest Barber Street was vandalized by an unknown subject.

Aug. 11, 3:53 p.m.: An electrical box and tree in the 29900 block of Southwest Montebello Drive were vandalized by an unknown subject.

Aug. 13, 4:05 p.m.: A 2012 Toyota Camry was damaged in a hit-and-run incident that took place at an unknown location.

Aug. 14, 12:56 p.m.: A complainant reported a hit-and-run incident that took place two days prior at an unknown location.

Aug. 15, 7:55 a.m.: Sugar was poured into the gas tank of a 2003 Dodge Neon parked in the 8400 block of Southwest Holly Street. A possible suspect was identified for police.

Aug. 16, 11:20 a.m.: A silver BMW X3 was vandalized at a residence in the 28500 block of Southwest Morningside Avenue by a unknown suspect who covered the vehicle with several dozen Maxi Pads. The pads left adhesive residue on the car’s paint that will have to be professionally removed, the complainant said.
