Wilsonville Police assist state police in apprehending Logan Hansen, 29

Wilsonville Police Officers and Oregon State Troopers arrested a 29-year-old Medford man today after he allegedly abandoned a stolen SUV on the side of Interstate 5 and fled on foot.

According to Oregon State Police, Logan Mitchel Hansen, 29, of Medford was taken into custody just before 1 p.m. today after fleeing the location where he reportedly abanoned a stolen GMC Envoy on the roadside of the northbound lanes of Interstate 5.

Police said Hansen dumped the SUV after driving north from Salem on I-5 at a high rate of speed. State police dispatch was notified about a reckless driving complaint involving the vehicle at 12:37 p.m. Responding troopers found the vehicle abandoned just 10 minutes later in Wilsonville.

Witnesses provided a description of the suspect to police, and just eight minutes after the SUV was found by state police an officer from the Wilsonville Police Department spotted Hansen and took him into custody without further incident.

Hansen faces charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, identity theft, third-degree theft and third-degree criminal mischief. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail, where records show his bail is set at a total of $41,000.
