Amid an on-again, off-again deluge of rain, volunteers tackled a hefty list of projects in Memorial Park for the 17th annual Wilsonville Environmental Resources Keepers (WERK) Day May 13.

Dozens of community members flocked to the park restoration and clean-up event hosted by the City of Wilsonville and the Wilsonville Parks and Recreation Department. Dressed in rain gear and armed with a can-do attitude, volunteers and staff refinished benches, raked debris, spread bark dust, reinforced play structures, pruned shrubbery and more. By the end of the multiple-hour event, WERK crews had taken on sections of the upper and lower park, leaving the park polished and ready for a slew of springtime visitors.
