Wilsonville Community Sharing and Wilsonville Library receive large donations

OrePac donates to library technology

The Wilsonville Public Library Foundation thanks OrePac Building Products for support of public computing and Internet access at the Wilsonville Public Library with a $10,000 contribution.

The cash donation is part of a larger five-year commitment by the company to help the library improve opportunities for public access to computers and internet services at the Library. With the growth of wireless internet access, the Library is looking to strengthen the wireless infrastructure available to the public as part of a million-dollar Library renovation scheduled for this winter.

OrePac's support helps to strengthen the Library's wireless infrastructure by improving wireless internet access.

Brewfest donates to Wilsonville Community Sharing

On Aug. 12, the third annual Wilsonville Brewfest took place in the Villebois Piazza. The event hosted more than 1,500 attendees and raised a record $12,500 for Wilsonville Community Sharing.

Attendees enjoyed listening to artists Robby Mayer, The Whiskey Darlings and The Brian Odell Band while sampling 20 Oregon breweries, including Bent Shovel Brewing, which took home the "Beer of the Year" award for their Black Spade Stout.

The Wilsonville Brewfest is put on by Erin Telles of The Beer Station and Katie Green from Green Group Real Estate, Keller Williams Portland Premiere. In 2016 they started the nonprofit BrewsForCommunity, Inc. with the mission to give the community the opportunity to come together while trying local breweries and giving back to neighbors.

This year's sponsors were: First Team at Academy Mortgage, Twin Star Credit Union, Wilsonville Subaru, Farmers Insurance, BBSI & Crowley Landscape Management.

"It was an honor to have their support and the support of all the amazing volunteers", says Green, community director of Green Group Real Estate.

A large portion of the proceeds go to benefit the community. This year's $12,500 donation and event were also made possible in part by a grant from Wilsonville transient lodging taxes and the City of Wilsonville.
