Coffee Creek reports inmate death
An inmate housed at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville died unexpectedly this morning, Nov. 20. The inmate, Matthew Tracy, 65, was housed in the intake center of the prison and officials believe the death to be natural causes. He was pronoucned deceased at 11:30 a.m.
Tracy entered Oregon Department of Corrections custody Sept. 21, 2017, on three counts of sexual abuse out of Jackson County; his earliest release date would have been May 2026.
Next of kin has been notified.
Coffee Creek's intake facility serves to evaluate all male and female incoming inmates throughout the state but the prision mainly accomodates Oregon's female inmates. Typically around 400 male inmates are housed in the intake center.
