City hires communications and marketing manager

The City of Wilsonville recently welcomed aboard Bill Evans as the new communications and marketing manager. Evans has 25 years of public relations and marketing experience and has occupied roles in NBA organizations such as the Portland Trail Blazers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks and Seattle SuperSonics.

Since 2011, he has worked as a communication specialist for the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District.

Evans graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor's degree in journalism and enjoys improvisational comedy.

Rerouting for waste and recycling collection

For the first time in 20 years, the Republic Services of Washington and Clackamas Counties is rerouting its commercial front-load routes for solid waste and recycling collection.

It affects nearly 1,500 retail stores, restaurants, schools and apartments in Wilsonville while 155 Wilsonville entities' service day will change. Most customers will have the same day of service but pickup times could change.

Among other changes, additional trash and recycling routes will be added and there will no longer be Sunday services.

Republic Services is calling customers directly impacted by the changes.

According to a Republic Services press release, "The purpose of this change in routes is to better prepare for the continuing growth occurring in Wilsonville and to make fewer major changes in response to future growth. With this change we hope to have more predictable service times, a more responsive reaction to customer needs, and a reduced workload for our drivers."
