Snowboarding: Thomas Previs leads Wilsonville at OISA state championships
Area athlete places third in boys slopestyle competition
Thomas Previs took third place in boys slopestyle to lead the Wilsonville snowboarding team at the Oregon Interscholastic Snowboard Association state championships March 13-15 at Mt. Bachelor.
Previs earned a score of 76 on his best run, putting him behind only Sandys Jeremy Nylund (88) and Tualatins Graham Fletcher (79) on the individual leaderboard.
As a team, Wilsonville took 11th place in the event with 186 points. Jonathan Goddard scored 61 points in the event to take 18th place. Griffin Frigaard was 45th with 49 points.
Previs also added a 30th-place finish in the banked slalom competition, where he clocked a time of 36.49 seconds to earn 117 points. Goddard logged a 39.39 to add 21 points.
Kylee Allen represented Wilsonville on the girls side. She placed 16th in the slopestyle competition with a score of 48, and she took 20th in banked slalom with a best time of 39.89 seconds.
Ashlands boys and Oregon Citys girls won the overall team titles. West Linn was third on the boys side and fifth on the girls side.
