Get ready for the big day

2013-14 school year begins for Wilsonville students on Sept. 3 and 4


by: FILE PHOTO - School starts for most students on Sept. 3, and many schools have scheduled back-to-school events.You don’t have to like it, but you do have to face the fact that the start of the 2013-14 school year is coming. Families can start the school year right by adding these important dates to their calendar.

Boeckman Creek Primary School

The school is hosting a back-to-school ice cream social on Aug. 29 at 3 p.m. The first day of school will be Sept. 3, and a curriculum night is scheduled for Sept. 19.

Boones Ferry Primary School

The school is hosting a back-to-school popsicle social on Aug. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. The first day of school will be Sept. 3, starting at 7:45 a.m. and lasting until 2:10 p.m. A back-to-school night for parents is scheduled for Sept. 19.

Lowrie Primary School

Lowrie students are invited to meet their teachers and drop off their school supplies on Aug. 29 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. The first day of school for all students will be Sept. 3, with the exception of the a.m. kindergarten students, who are scheduled to have staggered starts on Sept. 3 and 4. Lowrie’s back-to-school night is scheduled for Sept. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Inza R. Wood Middle School

The first day of school for sixth-grade students will be Sept. 3, from 9:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. All Wood Ambassadors will assist with the sixth-graders’ first day of school. Seventh- and eighth-graders who are new to Wood should plan to attend a new-student orientation on Sept. 3 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. All students should attend school on Sept. 4.

On Sept. 26, the school will host a back-to-school/curriculum night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Wilsonville High School

Freshmen will attend a full day of school on Sept. 3. The year begins for all other grades on Sept. 4. A back-to-school night is scheduled for Sept. 11 from 6:30 to 8:15 in the high school library.
