Schools to release early Sept. 25

The first professional growth date for teachers for the 2013-14 school year will be Sept. 25.

All students in West Linn-Wilsonville schools will be released early on that day.

Professional growth dates occur each month. Check with the office at your child’s school for the exact release time and for information about early-release bus routes.

College application help available

The counseling staff at Wilsonville High School is hosting an informational evening meeting for seniors and their families Sept. 26.

Parents and students will receive a guided tour through the college application and admissions process and will have the opportunity to ask questions.

This event is targeted at seniors, although all WHS students and their families are welcome to attend.

Music, food, fundraiser at McMenamins

The Lowrie Primary School PTA is sponsoring a benefit concert at McMenamins Old Church and Pub on Sept. 17 from 5 to 11 p.m. McMenamins is donating fifty percent of all sales from that time to the PTA.

The event will feature performances by Naomi LaViolette at 5 p.m. and Michele Van Kleef at 6 p.m. as well as tattoos, bubbles and face-paining for children. McMenamins Old Church and Pub is located at 30340 S.W. Boones Ferry Road.

Cheer clinic scheduled

The Wilsonville High School cheerleaders will host their annual fall cheer clinic Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon. Students from kindergarden through eighth grade are invited to attend. They will learn game day material, a dance and basic stunting and jumps.
