Oregon Tech offers new master's degree

The Oregon Institute of Technology has launched a new master's degree program in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and is now accepting applicants. ABA is a scientific approach for understanding and addressing socially significant problem behaviors and teaching meaningful skills. Gone fishing

The Association of Northwest Steelheaders — a local nonprofit organization dedicated to fishing advocacy and education — is hosting a family fish camp at Camp Angelos, 32149 S.E. Stevens Road, Corbett, from March 9-11.

Families will learn fishing skills by expert anglers while staying overnight in a summer camp setting. The event is geared toward families with little to no fishing experience.

Tickets for adults are $139 and tickets for children are $99. Tickets will include five meals, lodging for two nights and access to all sessions and activities.

Wilsonville High School a cappella group advances to finals

Soul'd Out, Wilsonville High School's a cappella group, took first place at the ICHSA Northwest semifinal competition Friday, Jan. 26, in Salem. They are now advancing to the final round in New York City this April. Congratulations WHS Choral Department!

Congratulations WSU students

Wilsonville residents Courtney Antonson, Brittany Sawyer and Allison Schwarm made the president's honor roll at Washington State University. To be eligible for honor roll, undergraduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of nine graded hours in a single term at WSU and earn a GPA of 3.75 or higher or earn a 3.50 or higher cumulative GPA.

Congratulations Rhode College student

Taissia Smirnova, a Wilsonville resident, made honor roll for the 2017 fall semester at Rhodes College. To qualify for the honor roll, a student must be enrolled in at least 16 credit hours of academic work and must achieve a semester GPA of 3.85 or better.

Agriculture scholarships available

The Clackamas County Farm Bureau is offering $15,000 in scholarships for those pursuing a career in agriculture or a related field at a two- or four-year institution of higher learning. The scholarships — which will be awarded in 2018 — will be between $500 and $3,000 per recipient. The deadline is March 15, 2018. To apply, visit

Congratulations University of Alabama student

Anders Ericson, a Wilsonville resident, made the dean's list for fall 2017 at the University of Alabama.To qualify for dean's list, students need to have a GPA of a 3.5 or above and take a full course load.
