School district to host community budget information session
The West Linn-Wilsonville Budget Committee will hold a public information session Thursday, April 12, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the WL-WV School District board room, 22210 SW Stafford Road, Tualatin. District staff and Budget Committee members will share information about the budget process and will ask for feedback from local residents regarding the district's budget priorities and the state budget process.At the meeting, district staff will answer questions and address concerns related to the development of priorities for the new 2018-2019 budget. Question and comment cards will be collected and addressed at the meeting, and results will be posted to the district's website.
Wilsonville students place at chess tournament
While no Wilsonville students will be moving past the state Chess for Success tournament that took place Saturday, March 10, two students placed. Benjy Springall, 10, tied for fourth, winning three out of five games. Hendrix Day, a second-grader, was also invited to participate in state and tied for eighth. Good job Wilsonville students!
Congratulations Sarah Harms!
Student-athlete Sarah Harms, of Wilsonville, has been recognized by the Liberty League with a weekly conference award as Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's as softball pitcher of the week. Sarah was 4-1 with a 0.90 ERA over 23.1 innings last month. She recorded 13 strikeouts over six appearances with two complete games. Her strongest performance came in a 4-1 win over Catholic University in which she pitched a complete game allowing three hits with three strikeouts and one earned run.
