Application deadline is Oct. 11

The Wilsonville Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for 2013-14 Community Partnership Program grants.

These grants, funded through the Clackamas County Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, are awarded to projects that will increase tourism or that can reasonably be expected to increase tourism. Tourism is defined as activity involving visitors who live more than 50 miles away or including an overnight stay in the county from someone who doesn’t live there.

Applications that are eligible will have a high likelihood of attracting tourists and visitors from outside the county, include more than one community, lodging or tourism partner, are self-sustaining, leverage additional dollars or resources and have a measurable return on investment.

Projects that focus on agri-tourism, outdoor recreation, heritage, culture, arts, multiproperty lodging promotion, social media and Internet to increase visibility, marketing, product promotion or development of niche vacations or bicycle tourism promotions will have priority.

Some of the projects that have been funded in the past include geocaching coins, maps, brochures and fliers, interpretive signs and panels, driving or walking tours and trails, farm or heritage loops, online marketing, cooperative advertising buys and events and activities.

The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Oct. 11. Applications are available by contacting Steve Gilmore, CEO of the Wilsonville Area Chamber of Commerce, at 503-682-0411 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
