UberEATS now delivers McDonald's in Portland; kept hot in foil pouches sealed with tamper-proof a sticker.

COURTESY: MCDONALD'S - UberEATS starts delivery of McDonald's food today, Monday 26 June. It worked in Florida, so it must be good for Portland.

Uber will begin delivering McDonald's menu items starting Monday June 26.

After a successful pilot worked in the Sunshine State, McDelivery is coming here at the speed of Uber.

McDonald's already offers delivery in other parts of the world, particularly Asia. In the US it has opted for Uber, specifically UberEATS.

Seattle is one of the leading markets for McDelivery in the country.

Food is kept hot in foil pouches sealed with a tamper-proof sticker.

Users enter their delivery address. If it is in the coverage area, UberEATS software calculates the fastest route and closest restaurant before dispatching a driver.

Delivery fees vary from city to city but in Portland expect to pay the price of the food plus a $4.99 flat delivery fee.

The company says the full menu will be available for delivery with the exception of soft serve cones. McPick 2 and other promotional pricing offers may be excluded.

There is no minimum order size.

The McDonald's tech effort includes self-service ordering kiosks, digital menu boards, and mobile order and pay. Mobile Ordering was first tested in Spokane, Washington.
