Willamette Week first reported that Live Nation applied for a liquor license with the OLCC. Bob Dye, the general manager of Lloyd Center told the Business Tribune "Live Nation is planning to open a live music venue at Lloyd Center pending the necessary approvals and is tentatively scheduled for an early 2020 opening."

CAPREF Lloyd Center LLC, the investment firm from Dallas, Texas that owns the mall, has plans for more stores and wants to make Lloyd Center an entertainment-based mall, rather than a three-anchor department store mall.

"Additionally, we are talking to a number of complimentary retailers including a variety of stores, restaurants and other entertainment uses. We will of course announce more details as they develop."

Willamette Week said limited liability company name on the OLCC application is "HOB Entertainment," suggesting another one of Live Nation's House of Blues venues could be coming to town.
