Project: The Tree Farm

District: Morrison Bridgehead

Developer: Guerrilla Development

Designer: Brett Schulz Architects

Contractor: Pro-Teck Construction

Kevin Cavenaugh's Tree Farm Building now has its trees. The strawberry trees in shiny galvanized steel bins made it an instant landmark at Morrison and Southeast Third. The six-story, 85-foot cube known as Tree Farm, is designed to be part Chia Pet, part Pop Art painting, according to Kevin Cavenaugh, who also came up with the Fair-Haired Dumbbell. Designed by Brett Schulz Architects, who also did his Zipper on Sandy, the 56 trees will each have a sprinkler in case of fire by an electrical wire. Nicholas restaurant and Cloud Force Coffee are two of the first retail tenants.
