Cult fast-food franchise Shake Shack is coming to Portland.

The empty vitamin shop at 1016 W. Burnside St. is the site of Portland's proposed first Shake Shack. The site, opposite Powell's Books and next to Living Room Theater, will receive a Type II design review hearing, according to a site plan and drawings filed with the Bureau of Development Services.

The Daily Journal of Commerce Oregon first reported the rendering by architects Aria Group of Oak Park, Illinois, which designs the burger chain's stores.

PAMPLIN MEDIA GROUP: JOSEPH GALLIVAN - The former vitamin shop at 10th Ave and West Burnside which will become a Shake Shack.

Consumers have raved about Shake Shack's well-seasoned fast food, comparing it favorably to In-N-Out Burger (nearest one, Keizer) and Burgerville. The shop's parking lot will become a patio, according to the drawings.
