Chipmaker will hold Zoom event for students on national Manufacturing Day, Oct 2.

For Manufacturing Day, an annual October project to get students interested in entering the manufacturing field, Washington County chip company LAM Research is holding a virtual kickoff event at 10 a.m. Friday. Oct. 2.

Also, any student or educator can write an essay or make a video about their love of STEM, to win one of ten $500 scholarship to be used to further a STEM or manufacturing career. The STEM scholarships are available to students and teachers in Washington County who participate in the MFG Day activities online starting Oct 2. The Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce is holding a School to Career scavenger hunt offering $25 gift cards for students who explore the site and answer some simple questions.
