In the role, Kravitz will serve as a company officer, according to the utility.

"I am excited to take this next step in my career with such a great company that truly cares for its customers, employees and community, especially during such an exciting time for our industry," Kravitz said.

Kravitz joined NW Natural in 2014 as a regulatory attorney and was promoted to director of rates and regulatory in 2018, where he has led the company's efforts for the past four years.

According to NW Natural, the company provides 2.5 million people with natural gas service, and has experienced a time of increasing complexity for gas utilities, alongside its expansion into the regulated water utility space.

"Zach's promotion comes at a time of increasing importance of rates and the regulatory process during the low-carbon energy transition, and he has consistently demonstrated the skills, knowledge and temperament to be a great fit for this role," said NW Natural President and CEO David Anderson. "Zach is highly respected by his colleagues here and by others in the industry."
