Isolation during the pandemic
A common concern we heard during the pandemic was the care of our seniors at Beaverton Lodge. The older you are, the more susceptible you become to COVID-19 and understandably, we were concerned, too.
At Beaverton Lodge, we followed state-issued protocols and guidelines to keep our residents safe, but at the same time, we were concerned about seniors living on their own and feeling the despair of intense isolation during the pandemic. We heard from many outside seniors who were having family help them with grocery shopping and grandchildren said hello from outside the windows, but at the end of the day, they were still lonely living alone.
At Beaverton Lodge, our seniors were not alone during the pandemic. Sure, we had to keep our distance and wear masks, but we were in it together in a home-like atmosphere. We stayed informed on the best way to protect our residents and when the vaccine was available, we were able to schedule vaccination clinic at our residence. Though locked down, we had each other and continued to offer comfort in the form of companionship.
For the children of seniors, we understand that it's hard to be alone on a journey with your aging parent making sure they are safe, comfortable and cared for, it's a big responsibility. Let us show you how community living at Beaverton Lodge can enrich your loved one's life with healthy meals, exercise programs, social outings and medical response all in a secured residence.
With every hardship, we re-evaluate our lives and recognize our blessings. For us at Beaverton Lodge, we appreciate the deeply connected community we have cultivated. Call today to schedule a tour and let us show you our family.
