Pumpkin Spice of living: Beaverton Lodge
Fall. That magical time of year in Oregon when nature is showing us her gorgeous fall colors, the temperature has cooled down and holiday season is right around the corner. But for many seniors who live alone, autumn can be the beginning of the longest part of the year when weather can prevent travel, even locally. The night lengthens and there is less to do.
But at Beaverton Lodge, all seasons are fun, and we especially love autumn. Our new Activity Director, Kate Kristiansen is busy preparing lots of new projects for our residents. From fun crafts, preparing gifts for holidays, events and activities, our residents are going to be enjoyably busy. Kate is also reorganizing and updating our activity room, TV room and Social Room - these newly revised spaces will be conducive to our appreciated social activities where residents can work on an organized project while enjoying the fellowship of others.
It's been said that a rainy fall day is the perfect time to start a new book. Our library is already impressive but Jan, from Jan's Books is working with our residents to bring in more books and vary the genres. Reading is one of those activities that keep us mentally young and engaged. Come into the library and browse the stacks and you'll find a peaceful place to enjoy your book.
Fall doesn't have to be the precursor to a long winter season alone. Come into Beaverton Lodge today and let us give you a tour of our home, show you our activities and let you feel the warmth of community living.
