30-year-old Mexico resident arrested

Beaverton police officers made the traffic stop around 3 p.m. on Saturday after they established probable cause that drugs might be in the vehicle. A police K9 was brought in to search the vehicle, and around 7 pounds of methamphetamine were discovered, said Officer Mike Rowe, Beaverton police spokesman.

Police arrested the driver, identified as Jose Ortiz-Ledezma, 30, on accusations of possession of a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance and manufacturing of a controlled substance. He was lodged in the Washington County Jail.
