SUBMITTED PHOTO - A driver crashed into a bicyclist Friday afternoon in Cedar Mill, seriously injuring the cyclist. The driver was cited Tuesday.A Hillsboro man was cited on Tuesday, May 26, for making a dangerous left turn and careless driving after he caused a collision that seriously injured a Cedar Mill bicyclist on Friday, May 22.

David Warren, 64, was driving his Ford Bronco eastbound on Barnes Road when he turned left onto Southwest Miller Road and into the path of David Garcia, 43, who was bicycling westbound on Barnes at a high speed.

Sheriff's deputies, arriving at the 1:45 p.m., found Garcia unconscious and suffering from life-threatening injuries, according to spokesman Sgt. Bob Ray. Garcia, who lives in the Cedar Mill area, was treated at the scene and then transported to Legacy Emanuel Hospital.

Warren remained at the crash scene and cooperated with investigators. He was not injured.

The intersection was closed much of Friday afternoon as the Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team helped investigate.
